As I sit in my hotel room in California I think what should I paint. After traveling today and having an interesting day at the new office I need a moment of silence to reflect. So many changes are happening and I need to ponder, to reflect, and release. As I look around there was a painting in my room that I was just drawn too. It reminds me of sitting at an edge of the shorelines enjoying the silence. Other than the whispers of trees blowing and water rippling, silence.
One of my favorite things to do when I have had an interesting day is to sit at the beach and just embrace the silence. I miss the many places I use to go on Kaua’i and Oahu. Some of the most gorgeous places to go and sit for hours on end and just release all that junk from the day. Have you ever had one of those days? Where is your favorite spot to put things in perspective?
I need to start driving around Washington and find my happy place. This is the first time ever that I did not live near the ocean, so I need to find something that still will give me the calmness, and silence I use to experience from home.
“Silent Edge” by Doreen J. Bowers
9″ x 12″ in. Watercolor painting on Watercolor paper
Not sure why I was able to relax and take in this picture but it inspired me to run with it! Of course I changed it up a bit to allow me to play around a little with my watercolors.
Here is the painting from the room, just so I can remember where the idea came from.
“Larkspur Landing Painting”
Well today is another day…of course it is raining out. I absolutely love the rain but I do hope by the end of today there is a little sunshine. I want to take a few pictures before it gets dark…We will see. I wish everyone a beautiful day, a productive day!
