Daily Painting Day 2

“Enlightened Growth”

Day 2 and I found myself crunched with time on getting in some painting.  We went out to the mall and did not get home until late.  I am determined to complete this challenge.  So I went upstairs sat down and was like what do I draw.  I had this sketch of a Lotus plant on watercolor paper so I decided to go for it.  Well, you know how something just refuses to work with you.  I felt like this was one of those times.  Working with watercolor for me is so different than acrylic.  I think I have a heavy hand when it comes to the brush and how much water to use.  The paper was soaked.  I definitely need to practice water colors.

#2 “Enlightened Growth” 9″x12″ ColdPress Watercolor Painting

When I finished this painting I realized I have so much to learn.  That’s ok, this is why I am starting the daily painting.  To learn different techniques and to help me improve.  I did have a moment of not wanting to post this but I decided that I should post the good, the bad, and the ugly.

This blog is about my journey of being creative so I am chalking it up to the growth process.

The enlightened growth process….Haha the name is so fitting.

The lotus flower symbolizes the purity of heart and mind, long life, health, honor and good luck.  The perfect meaning for this path I am on.

A friend of mine suggested a grape.  Maybe I will do that today….She said just work on one single grape and build from there.  When I look at my painting above I thought to myself…she was right.  Keep it simple and grow from there.  One grape, two grape, red apple, green apple, pears…….hahaha

So much can be said about the words “Keep it simple

On a good note, I can say Day 2 – Checked off!!

Have a great day~
