Through their Eyes
Today I had several thoughts of what to paint. I was scrolling through inspirational photos that I have been collecting for some time now and decided on several. But when I went into the room to start to paint I chose another route. Shocker, right!
I actually painted two paintings today and decided that I wanted to change it up a little bit and add color…hahaha….yea I don’t have enough color in my paintings.
I started thinking what my sister said which was you can put color in anything you do. So I started to play around and chose to do just that. As I sat in front of a blank canvas with the thought of painting one thing I started changing my focus to my cat who was laying right in front of me, staring at me with his green eyes. So guess what I changed my mind and started to paint cat eyes. When I started thinking of what the fur would look like that is when I experimented. This is what I came up with.

Popo kept staring at me and I just could not resist putting those eyes into the painting. When looking into those eyes you just don’t know what they are thinking. They say the eyes are the window to the soul. When I was looking into Popo’s eyes I just thought he wanted to pounce me. Psycho kitty! hahaha….
One thing I like about acrylic over watercolor is that acrylic dries much faster and you could put layers on top of layers. With watercolor you have to wait it out or end up with a more muddy look because the colors just blend. Which then I realize patience in drawing and painting is key to what you want to get out of your design.
I did have fun with this one. Day 36 wow…completed!
Have a great day!
