Deciding on what to paint today was a bit easier. After painting my fruit bowl I decided to run with it and paint something that reminds me of home. I think I will be doing more of these. I have a few designs in mind so I might as well run with it.
5″x7″ Acrylic Painting on Artist Canvas Board. The background I used a bit of watercolor.
In the last year I have been playing around with paper cutting as well. Thanks to my friend Mary that pushes me to try different things. These two pineapples were made this past year using homemade paper and ink stains. I have done quite a few more that I will add to this page when I find the photos.
“Aloha” Homemade Paper Cutting – Pineapple by Doreen J. Bowers
Years ago, I played around with Chinese paper cutting and I made my first Pineapple cutting. I could remember doing this when I lived off the Pali Hwy. My daughter was about 6 so that makes it 18 years ago. Wow that was a long time ago! I made one cutting and it was of a Pineapple. I loved it! I wished I took a picture of it because it took a lot of work, very detailed cutting, and what I can remember I was very proud of it. Live and Learn! Just having a small flashback of pineapple memories. 🙂
